Volunteer: Steps for Scaps Walk

De La Salle alumnus Alexander Scapini, a class of 2016 graduate, tragically passed away in January of 2022, following a battle with a brain tumor. His life will be celebrated via a charity walk, taking place on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m., at Addison Oaks County Park in Leonard, Mich. Here's the official rundown of events for the day: 9:30 a.m. - Registration 10:30 a.m. - Welcome ceremony & Hero Dash 11:00 a.m. - Walk begins & food trucks open 12:30 p.m. - Silent auction winners announced The fourth annual event, held in Alex’s memory, is called “Steps for Scaps.” It will benefit the Children's Tumor Foundation, whose mission is to drive research, expand knowledge, and advance care for the Neurofibromatosis (NF) community.

Volunteer: Hero Dash for the "Steps for Scaps" Walk

Hero Dash Runners: We would love it if some of the students would be willing to dress up in Superhero costumes/ or general costumes to run alongside the elementary-aged kiddos & stand at the finish line encouraging the runners during the Hero Dash. We have 9 superhero capes w/ masks available to borrow and would welcome costumes from home if available! The Dash starts at 10:40am and would require about a 10-15 minute commitment.

The committee is in need of assistance in the following way: 1) Running a Game Booth, 2) Cleaning Tables after they are used, 3) Running a Food Booth, 4) Being a general task runner (aka help the committee chairs whenever a need arises).  As the festival grows closer, there will be more specific roles for volunteers to take on!
